This policy explains how UtilityNex (“NexField”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the NexField website at nexfield.utilitynex.com, the NexField Android app, and the NexField GNSS correction service (together, the “Service”).

By using the Service you agree to this policy.

1. Who we are

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

Name — for your account and on survey records.
Phone number — used as your login identifier and to send one-time passcodes via WhatsApp.
Email address — for account recovery, receipts, and service notices.
Address — your village, mandal, or district, used to assign you to the nearest correction base station and for billing records.
Payment information — subscription payments are processed by Razorpay. We receive a payment reference, amount, and status. We do not receive or store your full card number, UPI PIN, or bank credentials.
Messages you send us — support requests and in-app messages.

Information created when you use the Service

Precise location — GNSS coordinates captured by your NexField device or phone when you record a survey point. This is the core function of the Service. Boundary coordinates, computed area, and perimeter are stored against your account so you can retrieve past surveys.
Device identifiers — the ID of your NexField hardware unit and a device identifier for your phone, used to link your hardware to your subscription and to prevent credential sharing.
Purchase history — your subscription plan, renewal dates, and payment history.
App interactions and in-app search history — which screens you use, which surveys you open, and searches you run inside the app, used to operate the Service, detect misuse, and improve reliability.
Crash logs and diagnostics — error reports, app version, OS version, and performance data.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect photos, videos, audio, contacts, calendar entries, files from your device, health data, or your web browsing history. We do not collect race, ethnicity, religion, political views, or sexual orientation.

3. Bluetooth and location permissions on Android

The app requests Bluetooth permissions solely to discover and connect to your NexField survey device. On Android 12 and above we declare BLUETOOTH_SCAN with the neverForLocation flag, meaning we do not derive your location from Bluetooth scanning. On Android 11 and below, the operating system requires location permission before any app may scan for Bluetooth devices; we request it only for that reason.

Location data used in surveys comes from the GNSS receiver and the correction service, and is recorded only when you tap to capture a point.

4. Why we use your information

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it.

5. Legal basis (where applicable)

We process your data to perform our contract with you, to comply with legal obligations such as tax and record-keeping, and where we have a legitimate interest in securing and improving the Service. Where the law requires consent, we ask for it.

6. Sharing your information

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with:

Razorpay Software Private Limited — payment processing.
Railway Corp. — application hosting (servers in Singapore).
Vercel Inc. — website hosting and content delivery.
Turso / ChiselStrike Inc. — database hosting.
Meta Platforms (WhatsApp Business API) — delivery of one-time passcodes.

Each processes data only on our instructions. We may also disclose information where required by law or valid legal process, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

7. International transfers

Our servers are located in Singapore. If you are in India, your data is transferred outside India for hosting. We apply the same protections described in this policy regardless of where data is processed.

8. How long we keep it

Survey boundary data: retained while your account is active, and for 12 months after closure so you can recover records.
Account and billing records: retained for 8 years, as required by Indian tax and company law.
Crash logs and diagnostics: up to 90 days.
OTP records: up to 30 days.

9. Your rights and choices

You can access, correct, or download your account and survey data from the NexField dashboard.

To delete your account and associated data, use our request page: nexfield.utilitynex.com/account-delete-request, or email nexsupport@utilitynex.com. We action verified requests within 30 days, except for records we must retain by law (see section 8).

You may withdraw consent, object to processing, or complain to a supervisory authority. In India, you may raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer named in section 1.

10. Security

All data is encrypted in transit using TLS. Passwords are stored hashed; sessions use signed tokens. Access to production systems is restricted to authorised personnel. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

The Service is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes

We will post any changes on this page and update the date above. Material changes will also be notified in the app or by email.
